Sorrento photoshoot
Sorrento is where I have worked most over the years, and I know its corners and its light well. For a couples photoshoot it has everything: an old town full of character, a fishing harbour, lemon gardens and terraces looking straight across the Gulf of Naples to Vesuvius.

- Two decades of weddings in Italy
- Amalfi Coast & Puglia — at home in both
- Documentary, unposed photography
- English & Italian spoken
Why Sorrento is perfect for a photoshoot
Sorrento is easy. Many couples stay here, the old town is compact and flat enough to explore on foot, and in a short walk we can go from busy little streets to a quiet terrace with a view of the whole gulf. It is also the gateway to the rest of the coast, so a session here fits easily into a holiday.

Most of the photos on this page come from weddings I have photographed in Sorrento. A photoshoot follows the same idea: natural photos of the two of you, in places that look like Sorrento and nowhere else.
Places for your Sorrento photoshoot
These are some of the places I love to photograph couples in Sorrento:

- The back streets of the old town, narrow and full of life, with shops, scooters and old men playing cards
- Piazza Tasso, the heart of the town, perfect for a lively, urban feel
- Marina Grande, the old fishing harbour, with its boats and colourful houses
- The terraces over the Gulf of Naples, such as the one near the Cloister of San Francesco, with Vesuvius across the water
- The lemon gardens, green and fragrant, and a reminder of what this coast is famous for

Check my dateSunset over the Gulf of Naples
Sorrento faces west across the gulf, which makes its sunsets spectacular. On a clear evening the sky turns red and gold, the sea goes silver, and Vesuvius and the island of Capri stand out on the horizon. The last hour of light is the best time for a session here.

If you prefer quieter streets, an early morning session is a lovely alternative: the old town is still calm, the light is soft and you have the place almost to yourselves.
Engagements, honeymoons and proposals in Sorrento
Sorrento is a natural choice for engagement photos if you are planning a wedding on the peninsula, and for honeymoon photos if you are staying in one of its hotels. For a proposal, a terrace over the gulf at sunset is hard to beat. You tell me where and when, I wait out of sight, and I photograph the moment and the celebration afterwards.

From Sorrento you can also take the session further. A boat trip along the coast, or a short drive to Positano or Massa Lubrense, gives your photos a completely different backdrop.
Practical tips
Sorrento is busy in summer, especially in the evening around Piazza Tasso and Corso Italia. Plan your outfits so you can walk comfortably between places, and think about the time of day: the softest light is in the early morning and in the last hour before sunset.

Sessions can be short or longer, depending on what you have in mind. You receive your photos as a private online gallery with high-resolution files. For availability, options and fees, send me your date and I will send you my information package.
What to wear in Sorrento
Sorrento’s old town is warm in colour – yellow and ochre walls, green shutters, lemons everywhere – so soft, light tones and simple fabrics usually photograph best. For the terraces over the gulf, something that moves in the breeze looks beautiful against the sea.

If you would like two different looks, bring a second outfit: a more elegant one for the terraces at sunset and a more casual one for the back streets and the harbour. Comfortable shoes help too. Most of all, wear something you feel good in – it always shows in the photos.

Having been recommended Adamo by a friend we booked him for our wedding in Sorrento. He and his team were absolutely amazing! Adamo was so professional, personal and his way he captured our special day in photos and on film was exactly what we wanted. All of our guests were impressed with his manner, humour and how he and his team interacted with us all. I cannot recommend him highly enough for capturing your wedding/event, he truly is great at his profession.Laura · Sorrento
Frequently asked questions
Where in Sorrento do you take photos?
Usually a mix of the back streets of the old town, Piazza Tasso, Marina Grande and a terrace over the Gulf of Naples. We choose together, depending on the light and the feel you want.
What is the best time for a Sorrento photoshoot?
The last hour before sunset, when the light over the gulf is warm and golden. Early morning is a quieter alternative, with soft light and empty streets.
Can we combine a Sorrento session with Positano?
Often, yes. Sorrento is the gateway to the coast, so a second location such as Positano or a boat trip can be added. Tell me what you have in mind.
Can you photograph a proposal in Sorrento?
Yes. You tell me where and when, I wait out of sight and photograph the moment and the celebration afterwards. A terrace over the gulf at sunset is a beautiful choice.
How much does a Sorrento photoshoot cost?
It depends on the length of the session and the locations. Send me your date and your idea, and I will send you my information package.
